A More Mature Jetta

The Volkswagen Jetta is a small family car produced by German automaker Volkswagen. It was first introduced to the world at the 1979 Frankfurt Auto Show and was produced in 1980. The name was derived from the Jet stream which follows the tradition of naming cars with various winds.

The 2006 Volkswagen Jetta now a larger sedan that falls more into a small sedan category than a compact class.

For 2008 Volkswagen has changed deleted and added many features from the older version. The 2008 Jetta Sedan is a 4door 5passenger family sedan available in 8 trims ranging from the S to the Wolfsburg Edition PZEV that was introduced at the New York Auto show in 2007.

The S is equipped with a standard 2.5 liter I5 170horsepower engine that achieves 21mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. A 5speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard and a 6speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The Wolfsburg Edition PZEV is equipped with a standard 2.0liter I4 200horsepower turbo engine that achieves 21mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. A 6speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. A 6speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. Notably the sedan gets a bump up in power. It offers more solid performance than previous models.

Jetta has taken a more mature look with the redesigned fifthgeneration. Due to this some critics say that this Jetta is less distinctive than earlier models. But one thing that made it look more modern is the deletion of boxy corners and rectangular light assemblies. New additions of auto body parts include chrome accents underneath the grille round headlights and sloping hood and front fenders. One thing that made it more practical is that it’s substantially larger than older models.

Good materials comfortable seats and a roomy space are offered by the new Jetta.

The Jetta comes standard with power windows and power mirrors cruise control manual climate control outside temperature display a fourway adjustable steering column and eightway adjustable cloth seats. . The huge 16cubic foot trunk will swallow much more luggage than a usual mid size sedan can.

Entertainment features include an AM/FM stereo that includes an MP3compatible CD player with an auxiliary input jack

Jettas come standard with many safety features including front sideimpact air bags curtain/head air bags antilock brakes and traction control. Stability control is standard on SE and SEL trims optional on the S trim.
